As we began to learn about the government, and politics in the United States we realized there were many stories of injustices that people should know about and don't. We created podcast in order to share these stories of incredible people. My podcast was about the creation of the 19th amendment, specifically about Elizabeth Cady Stanton a very important voice in the suffrage movement. We created two podcast, one designed for elementary school students, and the other created for high school students.
19th amendment podcast- Summary
Do you know how you got your right to vote? Do you know what women had to do to achieve that same right? This podcast will tell you about the challenges women had to overcome in order to gain the right to vote and will also discuss one of the most famous suffragettes, Elizabeth Cady Stanton. She was a very important figure who was involved in the Suffragist Movement. The biggest takeaway that our group had was how Elizabeth Cady Stanton changed “We the people” of the United States. Before the 19th amendment was introduced to the public, women all across the nation did not have the right to vote. Thanks to Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s dedication the 19th amendment helped give rights to more Americans. This amendment unified men and women like never before. We were especially struck by how long it took for women to get the right to vote yet through the constant meetings and protests, both peaceful and not, these women turned a dream into a reality. Our collaboration with each other worked very well. It started off better than we thought because of the way we communicated when trying to figure out what tasks to work on. What we did was making a group chat on what work needed to be done. Our relationship with each other has grown each day within the past months while working on this project. We have not only created a podcast, but we also created friendships along the way.
