This has probably ben one of the most challenging projects I have done in my High School experience. The work aspect of the project isn't what I found difficult, but the fact that it had to be showcased in I way I have never done before scared me. Six weeks before Festival Del Sol we began to work on a new sketch each week. We would have from Monday-Thursday to write it and on Friday we would have a table read. Then from the sketches that were read 12 were chosen to be edited and perfected in order to be performed during Festival.
Writing Sketches
Below is one of my favorite sketches I wrote. I enjoyed the process of writing it more than the others because it was the hardest to write. This was the one I wrote the second week, but it was the first time I took leadership in one. At first my whole group was stuck and then out of nowhere we had an idea, and we weren't able to stop.
Performance
I was not able to perform in "Locker room talk", but I did perform in "The Candidates" The candidates was a sketch in which we demonstrated a political debate and pointed out some patterns we have noticed in them. Although I did not have a main role in the sketch I was responsible of lights and audio for all of the other sketches, which kept me busy during Festival Del Sol.
